Wind is a form of solar energy and is caused by the uneven heating of the atmosphere by the sun, the irregularities of the earth’s surface, and rotation of the earth. This wind flow, or motion energy, when ‘harvested’ by modern wind turbines, can be used to generate electricity. The more wind you have, the faster the wind turbine spins and the more electricity generated.

Wind turbines are classified by the Federal Government as Small Generating Units and attract the Solar Credits Scheme Rebate. Check it out at www.climatechange.gov.au. As with solar installations, this rebate will minimize your initial installation cost.
