Braemac Energy - Rebates

Rebates

I’m planning on getting a solar PV system installed on my home. How do I get Solar Credits?

Solar Credits replace the support previously provided under the Solar Homes and Communities Plan, within the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts (DEWHA). For information on the Solar Homes and Communities Plan rebate, contact the DEWHA Community Information Unit: 1800 803 772.

Systems installed on or after 9 June 2009, where no application has been made up to that date for pre-approval under the Solar Homes and Communities Plan, will be entitled to Solar Credits under the Renewable Energy Target (RET) scheme rather than the rebate.

In practice, installers of solar photovoltaics (PV) systems usually offer a discount on the price of installing a solar PV system in return for the Solar Credits. Households considering installing solar PV systems are encouraged to shop around for the best deal on their solar PV system.

“Solar energy has been a passion of mine for many years. With the government rebate it was now or never. Braemac were helpful and honest – they didn’t treat me like an idiot and were on site promptly to assess my roof. After comparing quotes I found the Braemac package was by far the best option for quality of product and price. Installation was handled cleanly and efficiently and all over in less than a day. I’m now doing my bit for the environment and cannot recommend Braemac highly enough.”
